Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Supporting Communities Australia (SCA), which delivers Elevate Youth Lab™ (EYL), takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who we are
Supporting Communities Australia is a registered NDIS provider based in Liverpool, NSW. Elevate Youth Lab™ is a youth mentoring framework delivered exclusively through SCA. Where this policy refers to "we", "us", or "our", it means SCA and EYL together.
2. What personal information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to deliver our services, respond to referrals, and meet our obligations as an NDIS registered provider. This typically includes:
- Contact details of referrers and family members: name, email, phone, suburb, role or relationship to the young person
- Details of the young person being referred: name, age, suburb, funding source, goals, and any information the referrer chooses to share about needs, diagnoses, or context
- Service delivery records including session notes, progress against goals, and correspondence with support coordinators, caseworkers, allied health teams, and families
- Enquiry information submitted through website forms, email, WhatsApp, or phone
- Website analytics such as pages visited, referring source, and general location, collected through Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and where installed, the Meta Pixel
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you where practical: through the referral form on this website, by phone, by email, or in a service agreement. We may also collect information from your support coordinator, LAC, caseworker, allied health team, or family member where they have your consent to share it.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- Respond to referrals and enquiries
- Assess service fit and eligibility
- Prepare and manage service agreements
- Deliver mentoring and Positive Behaviour Support
- Communicate with the young person, their family, and the professionals supporting them
- Prepare progress notes and reports for plan reviews
- Invoice NDIS plan managers, DCJ, agencies, or family members as applicable
- Meet obligations under NDIS Practice Standards, the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW), and any other applicable law
- Improve our services and website
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where necessary to deliver the service or where required by law. This may include:
- Members of the SCA team involved in the young person's support
- The young person's support coordinator, LAC, caseworker, allied health team, or school (with appropriate consent)
- NDIS plan managers or the NDIA for the purposes of service delivery and invoicing
- DCJ, OOHC agencies, or the Child Protection Helpline where obligations under child protection law apply
- Regulatory bodies where required, including the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Providers of secure IT services (such as email, forms, and file storage) that support our operations
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for marketing purposes with unrelated third parties.
6. Storage and security
Personal information is stored electronically in secure, access-controlled systems. Paper records, where kept, are stored in locked facilities. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Staff are trained in confidentiality and information handling.
7. Overseas disclosure
Some of the software we use to deliver services (for example, email and hosting) may store data on servers overseas. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Cookies, consent, and website analytics
This website uses cookies. When you first visit the site, a consent banner asks which categories of cookies you allow. Your choice is remembered for future visits. You can reopen the preferences panel at any time from the "Manage cookie preferences" link in the footer, or by clearing the site data in your browser.
We use four categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary. Required for the site to work and for your consent choice to be remembered. Cannot be turned off.
- Functionality. Powers the Google Translate widget, the accessibility widget, and any preferences you set (such as font size or dyslexic font). Loading these places some cookies from Google.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 on elevateyouthlab.com and yosmerys.com to understand which pages people visit, how they found us, and their general location and device type. IP addresses are anonymised. Google Analytics only loads if you accept analytics cookies.
- Marketing. On elevateyouthlab.com we use the Meta Pixel (operated by Supporting Communities Australia) to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform. On both elevateyouthlab.com and yosmerys.com we use HubSpot, the system we use to keep track of professional contacts and enquiries: it records which pages you visit so that, if you later contact us, we can see what you were looking at. HubSpot may store data outside Australia and does not receive the details you type into our referral or contact forms. These only load if you accept marketing cookies.
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools receive aggregated, anonymous search data about our site directly from Google and Microsoft. They do not require cookies on your device and are not subject to the consent banner.
The consent banner is provided by the open-source library Cookie Consent by Orest Bida (MIT licensed). It runs locally on this site and does not send your consent choice to any third party.
9. Access, correction, and complaints
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to make a complaint about how we have handled your information. Requests can be sent to info@supportingcommunitiesaustralia.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, usually within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
For complaints about NDIS service delivery specifically, see our Complaints and Feedback page.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with the "Last updated" date at the top.
